Twisted Lies by Ana Huang: FAQs + Books Like It

Updated: Aug 14, 2023

I was genuinely a bit devastated when I read the last few pages of Twisted Lies by Ana Huang. Not only did I love Stella and Christian's love story, but the epilogue truly wrapped the whole Twisted series up in the happiest little bow. If a series has to end, then that's the way to do it. (Kindle | Paperback)

Anyways, before I officially begin to get over the fact that the series is now over, I've answered the most frequently asked questions about this book and provided you with five books like Twisted Lies to read next that will hopefully help cure any book hangover you might have. (Warning: This article contains spoilers)

Stella Alonso is a successful fashion influencer and blogger. However, her follower count has stagnated and she needs to revive it in order to secure herself a lucrative brand partnership. To do that, her manager suggests using a relationship to drum up interest. The thing is though, Stella doesn't date. So, it works out when the owner of her apartment building and CEO of a major security company, Christian Harper, suggests a mutually beneficial deal. He'll be her fake boyfriend for her social media if she'll be his date to the occasional event. It's easy at the start to follow the rules, but when Stella's stalker reappears in her life, the two become closer than they ever imagined they would and very real feelings develop that neither can deny for long.

5 Books Like Twisted Lies by Ana Huang

There is so much to love about Twisted Lies, from the faking dating plot to the protective alpha male lead. Fortunately, there are plenty of books like it to read next that feature the same types of themes and tropes. My top five picks of similar books include:

The Bodyguard by Katherine Center

1. The Bodyguard by Katherine Center

All the books on this list have something or other in common with Twisted Lies (obviously). But of them all, The Bodyguard by Katherine Center might have the most in common. Just read the description: "Jack Stapleton’s a household name but when his mom gets sick, he goes home to his family’s ranch to help out. Only one catch: He doesn’t want his family to know about his stalker. Or that he has a bodyguard. And so Hannah—against her will and her better judgment—finds herself pretending to be Jack’s girlfriend as a cover. What could possibly go wrong?" Of course, the one major difference is that the roles are reversed in this book, which I don't think is a bad thing. I think it will make it different enough to still be interesting after Twisted Lies!

Twisted Games by Ana Huang

2. Twisted Games by Ana Huang

Did you read Twisted Lies as a standalone and have yet to read Twisted Games? If so, give it's definitely worth a read; especially, if you loved Christian's protective, alpha side. The male lead, Rhys, is exactly the same, which makes sense given that he once worked as Christian's right-hand man at his security company. Plus, Twisted Games is basically a spicy Princess Diaries retelling, and let's be honest, what's better than that?

Terms and Conditions by Lauren Asher

3. Terms and Conditions by Lauren Asher

A grumpy rich man. Check. A happy woman, full of sunshine. Check. A fake relationship that develops into something deeper. Check and check. If that sounds similar enough to Twisted Lies to you as it does to me, then Terms and Conditions by Lauren Asher should be your next read. One thing to note about this book is that is the second book in the Dreamland Billionaire's series, however like the Twisted series, each book focuses on a different couple so you can read it as a standalone if you wish.

Fix Her Up by Tessa Bailey

4. Fix Her Up by Tessa Bailey

Ana Huang has a way of writing some truly fantastic spicy chapters, but the spicy chapters in Fix Her Up by Tessa Bailey to this day stand out as some of the most memorable. Besides the spice, like Twisted Lies, Fix Her Up is a fake dating romance. It's about a retired professional baseball player with a bad reputation who starts a fake relationship with his best friend's younger sister to help fix his public image.

King of Wrath by Ana Huang

5. King of Wrath by Ana Huang

If you are less particular about whether or not your next read is a faking dating romance, then might I suggest diving into the first book Ana Huang's latest series, King of Wrath. It takes place in the same world as the Twisted series and its male lead, Dante Russo, even made a brief appearance in Twisted Lies. It's very much a quintessential Ana Huang book so it feels very much like Twisted Lies but has some key differences, such as the arranged marriage and the fact that the male lead is more jealous than protective like Christian was.
