I went on a bit of unintentional hiatus from the Twisted series after I finished Twisted Games. In the back of my mind, I thought that whatever followed it could live up to a spicy Princess Diaries retelling. Jules Ambrose and Josh Chen aren't friends. In fact, if it wasn't for the fact that Josh's sister is Jules' best friend, they wouldn't have anything to do with one another. So neither is particularly happy when they're invited for a weekend ski trip that will force them to spend time together. They're even less so when they find out they'll be sleeping in the same bed. Of course, this weekend changes everything and the two suddenly find themselves engaged in a complicated secret friends-with-benefits situation.

5 Books Like Twisted Hate by Ana Huang

If you enjoyed Twisted Hate and want to read a book like it next, the good news is that there is no shortage of fantastic enemies-to-lovers books for you to choose from. If you want help narrowing down the options though, here are my top five recommendations:

King of Wrath by Ana Huang

1. King of Wrath by Ana Huang

Now that the Twisted series has wrapped up, Ana Huang has released the first book in her new King of Sin series. Like Twisted Hate, King of Wrath is an enemies-to-lovers romance with great banter and loads of spicy chapters. It's about as close to a dupe as possible, however, the one major difference is the element of an arranged marriage. As one Goodreads reviewer said, "You know exactly what you are going to get when you pick up an Ana Huang book. Is this the most original story? No, some elements feel a bit recycled from her previous stories. But is it a pick-me-up that readers sometimes need to forget about the real world? Yes, yes it 1000% is."

From Lukov with Love by Mariana Zapata

2. From Lukov with Love by Mariana Zapata

If there's one book that rivals Twisted Hate for insults, banter, and build-up, it's From Lukov with Love. In this sports romance, two figure skaters who have been long-time rivals on and off the ice are paired up and forced to practice together for hours on end. Inevitably, things begin to change between the couple as they truly become partners and get to know one another on a deeper level. This story definitely put a bit of a spell on readers, as it currently has 4.31 stars out of 5 on Goodreads and 4.5 stars out of 5 on Amazon.

The Bridge Kingdom by Danielle Jensen

3. The Bridge Kingdom by Danielle Jensen

If there's one book that's worth venturing into the realm of fantasy romance books for it's The Bridge Kingdom by Danielle Jensen. While it's nowhere near as spicy as Twisted Hate, the slow burn, enemies-to-lovers, and action sequences definitely make up for it. Here's a brief description to give you a better idea o what it's about: "Lara has only one thought for her husband on their wedding day: I will bring your kingdom to its knees. Their marriage is arranged under the guise of fulfilling a treaty of peace, but in reality, she is there to fracture the defenses of the impenetrable Bridge Kingdom. As her mission continues though, Lara finds the simmering attraction between her and Aren impossible to ignore."

Things We Never Got Over by Lucy Score

4. Things We Never Got Over by Lucy Score

The thing about Twisted Hate is that is dominated by insults and spicy scenes. While that's fun and all, it did leave me wanting... more? If you felt the same way, I think you can get that in a book like Things We Never Got Over by Lucy Score. Don't worry, there's still plenty of spice and the enemies-to-lovers is just as good, albeit a bit less intense. The key difference is that because it's a lengthy book, there's more time for the couple to develop and for you to see the highs and lows of their everyday life as a couple.

Brutal Prince by Sophie Lark

5. Brutal Prince by Sophie Lark

If you want an enemies-to-lovers romance with a little bit of grit and a whole lot of spice, then you need to read a mafia romance, such as Brutal Prince by Sophie Lark. It's about an arranged marriage between two rival mafia families in Chicago. The couple is the definition of enemies at the start of the book. Case in point, the female lead eats strawberries before walking down the aisle at the wedding, knowing that her first kiss with her new husband will initiate a potentially deadly allergic reaction.
