King of Wrath by Ana Huang: FAQs + Books Like It

Updated: Aug 14, 2023

Ana Huang is one of those authors who when they release a new book, I don't need to know anything about it to know that I'm going to read it. That's because when it comes to her books, I know for certain it's going to be two things: bingeable and spicy - and that's exactly what King of Wrath was. (Kindle | Paperback)

In the following article, I have answered a number of the questions that I imagine future readers of the book will ask, as well as provided a list of five books like King of Wrath to read next. (Warning: This article contains spoilers)

What is King of Wrath by Ana Huang About?

Dante Russo was born and raised to run his family's business empire and he's doing just that until he's blackmailed into an arranged marriage. Dante never intended to marry though so to say he's not pleased about the arrangement is an understatement. The same goes for his bride-to-be. Vivian is a successful event planner for the New York elite who expected an arranged marriage down the line, but never quite so soon. Can a couple who's at war behind closed doors sell the happy, in-love couple story to the press and society they're a part of? Will they make it to the altar without the truth of their arrangement getting out? Guess you'll have to read King of Wrath and see.

5 Books Like King of Wrath by Ana Huang

One of the reasons it's great to be a fan of King of Wrath is that you don't have to look very hard to find another contemporary romance about either an arranged marriage or a relationship with a possessive millionaire. There are literally hundreds of them out there to choose from. To get you started though, here is my list of five books like King of Wrath to consider reading next:

Twisted Love by Ana Huang

1. Twisted Love by Ana Huang

First and foremost, if you haven't read Twisted Love before, then put it on your list because it feels very similar to King of Wrath. Not only are the spicy chapters better (in my humble opinion), but it also has a dominant and cold businessman and is about a couple that progresses over time from enemies to lovers.

Bared to You by Silvia Day

2. Bared to You by Silvia Day

Long before The Day-to-Days was a thing, I read Bared to You by Silvia Day, and even though that was a while back now, it was still one of the first ones that came to mind when I started this list of books like King of Wrath. Mainly, that's because the male lead in both books is a hot millionaire who is obviously great in bed and controlling of the female lead in a way that's hot on paper, but in real life would be a total turnoff.

The Bridge Kingdom by Danielle L. Jensen

3. The Bridge Kingdom by Danielle L. Jensen

If you think this fantasy-romance recommendation seems out of place on this list, here's my rationale: both books are about a couple who are forced into an arranged marriage for logistical/business reasons, start off as enemies, and eventually fall in love. However, where The Bridge Kingdom differs is in the action and danger department. The added level of excitement this brings is what I felt was missing in King of Wrath and what you might appreciate in your next read.

The Wrong Bride by Catharina Maura

4. The Wrong Bride by Catharina Maura

Just published in October 2022, The Wrong Bride by Catharine Maura is like King of Wrath in that both are about a non-traditional relationship/marriage and a millionaire male lead. Here's the intriguing description: "When her sister doesn’t show up on her wedding day, Raven has no choice but to take her place and marry the elusive billionaire media mogul she’s always loved, Ares. Unfortunately, Ares has only ever had eyes for her sister. This doesn't deter Raven though, it just makes her that much more determined to win him over."

Brutal Prince by Sophie Lark

5. Brutal Prince by Sophie Lark

In a lot of ways, King of Wrath felt like it could have been a mafia romance if only it was just a few shades darker. In fact, in a lot of ways, it reminded me of Brutal Prince by Sophie Lark, which is about a couple from rival Chicago mafia families who are arranged to be married by their fathers. Neither have any say in the matter and begin as vicious enemies. Of course, they eventually become lovers, and when they do it's really spicy and satisfying.
